"We help each other, because no one knows it
all, regardless of how much formal or informal training you have. And, I
must say that even the leaders in the field, no matter how much they know or
haow great they are, even they don't have all the answers. :)
Work with each other, help each other, love each other, but most of all
Respect each other...
With lots of love and gratitude to all I have learned from you, Lactnet,

WOW - Here, here, Jay! Well said!

Well said and I agree - the LLL Leader and the Professionals at all levels can
be friends and learn from each other.

This has been of concern to me since I became IBCLC in 1985 and could see the
walls of missunderstanding grow. Some of it might be jealousy, as well as a
lack of understanding or willingness to learn and grow beyond what works or is
comfortable.

If we keep the mother and baby functioning together as our goal, learning
comes for all concerned and reaches beyond credit for the sorce of the
information. It is OK to have limits to out knowledge and skills in helping a
mother. The thing is to know when a situation it beyond our expertise, at
whatever level, and seeking help, conferring with out collegues whenever
possible, networking to share information on issues. Also, we need to
encourage the mother to seek help in addition to what we can offer if issues
or situations occur that require such.

This group is certainly a great asset to all levels of mother/baby assistance
with breastfeeding. Everyone keep up the enlightening information and
thought-provoking questions. It is good to know you are there, whatever you
level or function. We are all needed by someone!

Keep on keeping on - it is great to touch lives1
