Lactnet friends,
Since I have seen no mention of this yet, I will toot my own horn.
I was thrilled to learn, merely minutes before, that Gavin and I were
to be on a news spot after Chicago Hope! The clip was over a year
old. (Gavin must have been about 8 weeks old and is now 14 months;
and still enjoying his nursing time! They actually showed Gavin
nursing while in a baby sling! And, although nursing discreetly,
there was some visible breast-skin. :-O! I had said lots of POSITIVE
things and looked CONFIDENT as well. (Miss Modesty here) ;) I hope
lots of new and expectant moms were watching because they could see
how fat and healthy Gavin looked. Unbeknownst to them I was also
shown standing and talking with my doula, Vicci, who helped me through
tremendous back labor at our home birth. The spot was filmed at our
local breastfeeding and maternity store (which I was on maternity
leave from). So they showed lots of useful items as well as talked up
the support of professional lactation consultants. Anyway, it was
great! I hope that's enough positive stuff to balance the list out a
bit:D Take care, all. Katte Smith, professional mom ;D (Feeling a
bit frisky tonight)
