Anyone have a cool $2 million (US) to spare? I read in today's paper
that Sylvester Stallone ("Rocky" and "Rambo" fame in the movies) will
have one of his paintings auctioned off by Sotheby's. The painting is
entitled, "Alma Parens," done by William Adolphe Bouguereau. Sotheby's
is quoted as describing the painting as "a young idealized woman in a
noble pose, offering her nurturing breast to the children around her."
Sounds like maybe we (the females here...apologies to the guys) could be
considered "idealized," for having breastfed the kids. ALso sounds like
the subject in the painting may be a) tandem nursing siblings who are
not twins, b) tandem nursing twins (or higher order) or c) nursing other
women's babies ("wet nurse"), and D) nursing a toddler(s)? Sounds like
a pretty good woman to me...
