Dear Rob, I think sleeping with baby is like everything else, no rules,
some do, some don't. My daughter had a lot of trouble sleeping with first
baby and put her in a crib, worked for them, BTW (by the way) she slept
with subquent kids, no problem. It might have to do with 1st time mom or
subsequent tiredness and need for sleep blotting out sounds, who knows.
also BTW - your wife was probably tuning into the fact that he was getting
sick, even at a distance. Moms develop this baby radar, you know when
they bring them into the office and say something is wrong and you can't
see a thing, but by the next day they are obviously sick. Have to have a
DX (diagnosis) so I put prodromal viremia - drives the secretaries nuts.
