In a message dated 98-06-12 12:06:35 EDT, you write:

<< "The amount (of mercury) is relatively
negligible compared with other sources of mercury in the environment.
A person who has a lot of amalgam fillings releases about 2
micrograms of mercury per day, but is exposed to at least 10
micrograms of mercury per day through their diet". >>
As I had rather have my eyes pecked out than actually GO to the dentist, You
all can imagine my reaction when I first heard of the mercury thing with
fillings! I did a little research and was surprised at what I found! The most
interesting comment was from a friend of mine from school who is now a
dentist..he said that alot of dentists were taking advantage of some of this
research to replace every filling in their patient's mouths! Very lucrative!
He said he would not be doing this..Its preying on people's fears... Just a
little food for thought! Since the amount is negligible, why replace the
fillings?? Or if you just have to, why not wait until after weaning?
