Patty,
Perhaps Mom and Dad can be reminded that breastfeeding is not about passing
breastmilk along to baby via a container. It's about skin to skin and eye to
eye contact with that person who smells familiar and whose heartbeat the
babe has been hearing since its beginning. Also note that mom's body is made
to breastfeed and needs to do so to return her uterus to pre-pregnancy
size, to establish a good milk supply, and to maintain the hormonal balance
that nature intended.
Poor fellow. If he continues to assert his own needs over those of his
child, I suggest he seek professional help right away.
