I actually was enlightened by the posts on circumcision and feel that any
topic that could impact breastfeeding is fair game for discussion on Lact-Net.

To further my understanding of the phenomena and the motivation for people
choosing circumcision I went to a Bris (hope I spelled it correctly) of one of
my clients. The baby was having difficulty breastfeeding and the circ didn't
help. He slept alot for nearly two days after. Having that experience has
helped me to understand the religious and emotional issues, as well as the
physiologic that come along with the procedure. It also helped me to get in
touch with my own feelings about it which makes me better able to keep my own
stuff out of the way of my professional duties.
