Hi all,
I have checked in the archives, but have a further question. If a baby
is sensitive to dairy protein and mum has reduced her intake for a few
days (I did mention it can take 2 weeks) at what point during the
nursing would the baby react uncomfortably with gassiness, thrashing,
discomfort, etc. Is this an ongoing thing or would nursing specifically
trigger a reaction? Ped suggested soy formula (grrr) and of course baby
does not seem bothered with formula, only with breastfeeding. Oddly
enough, this started when mum was hospitalized at 2 weeks for a d/c and
received antibiotics, subsequently developed thrush. Could this be a
combination of unresolved thrush and dairy sensitivity? Mum does not
want to stop bf but ped suggested soy formula for a few days and just
not bf. Jeepers.
