I found a new use for diaper pins today, and thought that this was
perhaps the only place in the world where the humour and ingenuity
would be welcome!
I saw a mum today whose sole problem was that she was bringing the
breast to the baby instead of the baby to the breast. I gave her
the reasoning, then reminded her gently throughout our time
together. When this failed, I reminded her by touching her
shoulders to keep her back, when this failed, I tried a quip
"Mohammed must come to the mountain, the mountain cannot go to
Mohammed". When this failed, I asked for a diaper pin.....and
proceeded to pin the back of her shirt to the couch!
We both had a good laugh, solved the problem, and dad has pledged
pin and unpin her until she remembers without the tug on her shirt.
They called this evening and all is going swimmingly!
How low-tech can you go!
fondly,
