Regarding the Mom with the disappearing breast lump:

I discovered a lump a few years ago.  I have fibrocystic breast
disease.  I was not breastfeeding at the time.  It was a small, firm
lump that was not painful. I had a mamogram that showed it was solid and
not able to be aspirated.  My mamographer said I could wait and have
another mamogram in three to six months to reevaluate, or I could see a
surgeon.  I made an appointment with a surgeon to have it evaluated.
The day before the appointment, I realized the lump was gone.  I could
not find it.  I cancelled the appointment.

My mamographer explained that fibrous cysts can come and go.  She could
still see it in the same place on the xray film, but much smaller.  That
was many years ago, and it has not returned to palpable size.
