You all may think I am abit goofy after this and kick off Lactnet but I feel I
need to share asilly story with you. ON Saturday, my husband was getting the
lawn tractor ready to use for the year when he found a nest of mice. The
momma ran off leaving 4 little ones behind. Now I hate mice, but they were so
helpless that I decided to try to feed them. I warmed up some fresh
breastmilk from my 5 month old and put them on ashallow container and gently
pushed their noses into the milk. They must have taken in some. I have fed
them several times and they are still alive as of this posting. They are even
having yellow BRM stools. I am sure that they are not getting much but it
just shows that BRM is best, even for abandoned little mice. Now I do not
know what to do with them. They will probably die but at least it will be
more pleasant than be ing eaten by my cat. My husband thinks I am nuts.
Maybe I am or perhaps I just wanted to see how long they would survive on
momma' s milk. Somewhere there is a mouse experiencing some engorgement.
Hope you enjoy this little "tail" HA HA
