Paula,
No the patient wasn't drinking it (at least she didn't share that she was!) I
think it was the process of doing something normal - lactating - that finally
got her endocrine system in gear.  Personally, after 12 years of bfing my
periods were normal and predictable for the first time in my life - at 42!  Go
figure.  There is too much magic in this whole lactation process to be
explained away by even the most scientific explanations.
