Just thought I'd post a positive note about happenings in the Bluegrass.
UK's (University of Kentucky) Children's Hospital has a very nice display
for World Breastfeeding Week, in their "Welcome" area, with a display about
kangaroo care.
This may not be big news other places, but, it is a great stride forward in
this area. The medical community here is quite conservative.
They now have an IBCLC specifically for the NICU and she seems to be doing
a great job encouraging moms to do some kangaroo care with their babies.
YEAH!!
Another reason to cheer here is DORAINE BAILEY - she has so much energy and
has made up a wonderful card with breastfeeding resource people including
us (La Leche League Leaders). She has also coordinated a presentation at a
local mall with a display of breastfeeding information.
YEAH!!
