Hi everyone!! I have a mom report to me that she had been pumping 5 oz per
session while she was at work ( she pumps 3 times while away from baby approx
every 3-4 hours) and solely breastfeeds while at home and on weekends. Baby
started to take more by volume while at daycare but mom's supply dwindled to 4
oz per session of pumping. Baby is just 3 months old. Mom weaned the first
baby at 4 months due to low supply. She had a supply with the birth control
pills ( a combination one) with the first baby and now is on a progestin only
pill and was doing fine. Anyway i suggested to mom to try fenugreek. She
started with 2 pills twice a day and then increased it to 2 pills 3 times per
day when she saw no increase in her supply with her pumping. Baby had a bad
weekend and wouldn't nurse much. Would latch but kept pulling off of breast,
had a stuffy nose and didn't have a poop diaper on sunday and acted like when
she passed gas then she would eat more but only for a few sucks. Should mom
be worried about her milk supply. she has a woman she works with with the
same age baby who can pump several ounces more than this mom. So basically
mom pumps or nurses every 3-4 hours every day and once during the night and
fenugreek hasn't made a difference in her milk supply, she has noticed a body
odor like the fenugreek bottle smells of though!
Help please!!
