HAving just recently gone through this procedure, I was very careful to check
out this aspect of mercury filling removal. My dentist showed me an article
that measured mercury in the breastmilk. Author's conclusion was that due to
the high levels passing into the milk from the dumping of the mercury from
cells into the maternal serum post filling removal, that filling removal
should be done after weaning or when the risk of ongoing exposure of the
mercury vapor to the mother outweighs the risk of via breastmilk exposure to
the older child who is not nursing as much.

I chose to wait until my son weaned down to one-two feeds per day and then we
both went on a detox regimen (porphrazyme, garlic, and seasilver) post
removal.
