Hi, everyone: Just read the Ms. Magazine article about HIV and abm (I
agree it is generally balanced although it throws a rather less
complimentary light on some breastfeeding advocates than on abm
companies). I am wondering about their assertion that wet nursing is not
an option because "wet nurses are expensive and may carry the virus
themselves." Does anyone know how expensive wet nurses are as compared
with abm in some of these developing countries? What about the cost of
screening the wet nurses? TIA, Alicia Dermer, MD, IBCLC.
