Susan M.

I can feel for you. In some ways, to play devil's advocate, I wonder about
the IBLCE exam at this point as a level of practice, as an exam.

I have a problem with nurses ( I am a nurse myself...)...who can use their
experience in the postpartum units...years of time spent giving horrible
breastfeeding advice, as the basis for their experiene sitting for the IBLCE
exam. Is this fair?

In our area, there are nurses who have passed this exam, yet who still are
not grasping many tenets of lactation management, in my humble opinion.

I bristle against the idea of the four hour short bf course, or the 3 day
course...or whatever. Education takes time. Not 3 days.

Venting too.

Kathleen
