Hi all lactnetters,
I need to ask some questions about positioning. I know positioning and
latch are very important, key elements you could say. But I have to
wonder, in other countries, other cultures where BF is sort of taken for
granted, is positioning such a big deal? I am really curious about this.
I wonder the same things about birth.

Points to ponder:
<<Some things to check are that baby is brought to mother, i.e. raised on
pillow>> and <<the nose is in line with the nipple which should point up
and back>>
I agree this can be helpful, but I must ask, what do people in other
countries and other cultures do? Do they use aids like this or do they
just put baby to breast? Does the positioning usually work, or need to
be fixed? Does the baby instinctively latch well most of the time? Is
there someone (doula?) in the village to check the positioning and the
latch? Or do we have to do this because of so much intervention
(medicalization and artificial contraptions) nowadays?
