We made a small break-through at our hospital when the MDs included in
their routine orders: "no formula take-home packs for breastfeeding
Moms". So...we take all formula samples and advertising out of the
totes and send them home like that with Moms. I proposed not sending
them at all, but a hue and cry came loudly from the nurses saying the
mothers shouldn't be deprived of their "gift". I sometimes wonder what
difference it makes when most, if not all, of our Moms receive gift
packs of abm in the mail before the baby is even born!!! YUCK!!
