I am working with a mom whose baby has whooping cough and the entire
family was quarentined and put on erythomyicin. She had read
(somewhere, she couldn't remember where) that erythomyicin was
concentrated in the breastmilk and was wondering if her baby was
being over dosed. The BAB only says that there is no known problem
in a mother taking it, but doesn't cover when both mom and babe are
on the medicine concurrently.

The baby has had severe diarrhea since being on this medication and
both mother and baby are now dealing with thrush (which they are
using natural rememdies acidopholus and gentian violet) to clear up.

Anyone know whether it is fine for them to both be on the med? I am
no medical authority and the archives didn't turn up anything.

TIA!!
