Dear Barbara and listmates,

I can't imagine what else it could be. We had a similar case about three
years ago where the mother didn't have any abnormal bleeding yet low and
behold there was something in the uterus by ultrasound. It appeared to be
about the size of a quarter and was calcified in appearance. D&C revealed
a 2cm piece of calcified placenta with membranes. Milk supply dramatically
increased over a 48 hour period. Granted, none of this occurred without
great resistance from this mother's OB/GYN but she was cured none the less.
