I was distressed to see Ellen McIntyre's post about the survey done that
implies Aussies feel bf is a "home"/read hidden activity rather than
something one could do in public.

This is not the first publication I have seen in the last several months
that implies that the breastfeeding scene Down Under is not nearly as
positive and baby-friendly as I have been led to believe for a lot of
years.

More than one recently-published article has reported that fewere than 50%
of women actually put their babies to breast! (at all!) and that most of
them breastfeed for a very short period (most fewer than 6 months).

What ever happened to our inclination that all the excess milk producers
are in Australia and that most all of them start breastfeeding and quite a
number do so for many many months?

Are we seeing publicity of the REAL siutaiton, a backlash against more
breastfeeding in previous years, or what?
