I'm sorry I don't have access to my nutrition references as I am at home,
checking email over my lunch hour.   I will check some of my references at
work about high protein, low carb diets.

It is true that certain tissues use different fuels preferentially, however,
carbohydrates are the body's main fuel.

If you check with registered dietitians (RDs), you will find that most do not
agree with the popular high protein, low carbohydrate weight loss plans that
are around to today.

I'll post more later.  I would welcome comments from any RD's who might be on
the listserv.
