I'm sure it is here, too, so I thought I ought to clarify.  The Reglan is
prescribed in the doctor's name, I am simply calling it in to the pharmacy
under standing orders, just the same as his office nurse would do.  This
simply saves time with the phone calling, and tracking down somebody else
to order it if he's gone.  (One of his partners is the opposite
extreme--I've been chewed out for even *discussing* meds with his
patients.)  The MD gets a copy of my report saying I have done this, which
I assume goes in the patient's file.

In my long-ago life as an NICU transport nurse I initiated all *kinds* of
meds and treatments independently, covered by standing orders from the
neonatologists.  I don't think this is any different--is it?
