Is it possible that the LC had recommended Burow's solution, which is a
whole different thing, but comes in the same brown bottle as Hydrogen
Peroxide?
Burows solution is kind of like vinegar, the smell is not as strong, and
the recommendation is to dilute it one part to 40 parts water. It worked
great on my babies' terribly raw butt cheeks (sorry to be so blunt but
think this is the quickest way to describe it!)-where the cheeks meet in
the back, the skin was literally raw, prob. from foremilk hindmilk
imbalance back in the days of "5 minutes per side". The diluted Burow's
solution worked great, within 24 hours the skin was healed. If anyone
wants more info on how this was applied, please write privately as this
is not exactly breastfeeding related....Our pediatrician did recommend it
for cracked nipples, although back then LLLI did not like the idea of wet
soaks when I wrote to International asking their opinion....
