I have been meaning to ask this for some time and was just reminded...a
local radio ad for this product (nutritional supplement--homeopathic, I
think) has a sound bite with a man stating that they had even started their
2 week old on the product! Do any of you know anything about this product?
No matter what it is, vitamins, minerals, etc. I can't believe it is a
good idea to give baby ANYTHING besides just breastmilk at this age unless
there is a documented need. I also worry that if this does have vit. &
min. that babies on ABM may get too much of these. Any help? (I'm sure
this will come up since these ads have been on.)

Second, really disgusting thing happened today. I came out of patient room
to find M-J rep at desk talking to nurses...telling them about new product
for babies over 2 mos of age...forgot name but has RICE STARCH
added!!!!!!!!!! When I asked him what response AAP had given this
considering their stand on no solid till 6 months...he evaded the ? by
saying that parents do it all the time anyway so they're just making it
easier!!AAAAAAARRRRRRRRGGGGGGGHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!! I can't wait to see the
advertising they do for this one..." helps your baby sleep..blah blah
blah..." despite the studies which deny this. I could have screamed....
I'm sure many of you were aware of the time in the 70s when all the baby
food makers stopped adding starch and fillers to their products..now this?
Comments? (other than trying to keep these people out of our unit...which
I've tried to do!!! Can I count this as a work hazard?...dangerous to my
blood pressure???)
