Kathleen,
I find this very interesting.  While in a hospital in SLO a year or so
ago, this topic came up between myself and a doc.  He was familiar with
domperidone from his residency in Canada, and told me that the situation
was more political than anything. Domperidone is marketed as an
anti-nausea drug, usually for post-op usage. According to this doc, the
U.S. company that holds the rights to this drug also has another similar
drug on the U.S. market already, and thus he felt that there was no
motivation to put domperidone out on the U.S. market as well.

From this expressed logic, I figured that it may never come out unless
another usage can be promoted; gee, do you think we could convince
someone that domperidone might be great as a galactogogue if not for
anything else? What are the chances of getting something out on the
market *mainly* for lactation?  (If only they realized how many desperate
mothers there are out there--- they are missing out on quite a market in
the milk-supply-problem prone U.S.).
