This old chestnut again.  There is fairly good evidence that the baby
of the nursing mother who smokes is *healthier* than the baby of the
formula feeding mother who smokes.  But don't worry, the assault on
breastfeeding will continue, and the many uninformed reporters (I
replaced "jerks" with "uninformed reporters", getting mellow in my old
age) in the media will always be the willing handmaidens of the
formula companies.
