I have that reference in An Evaluation of Infant Growth, WHO Working group on Infant Growth, 1994 - WHO/NUT/94.8.

Subject: WHO weaning age guideline
Can someone please post a citation for the WHO recommendation that "children
should be breastfed for two years and beyond?" I know it was in Dr. Jack's
article for Scientific American some time back, but I have mislaid or lost my
copy, and I need the cite for a paper I am working on. I, of course, consider
it common knowledge in my field, but my prof wants a reference. I have
checked all the sites that my browser is bringing up in a search for WHO, but
alas to no avail...any kind souls out there want to spread a little
enlightenment to me?
Thanks in advance,
