Hello, I'm a long time lurker, LLLL and chilbirth educator, mother of 6 great kids.
I have been approached by the mother of a plump 3 month old who is fussy late at
night,Baby's stools vary from greenish with an unpleasant smell to yellow with an unpleasant
smell, to yellow with the usual breastfed baby's sweeter smelling stool, but without any
white "curds" that were common when the baby was younger. She hasn't been able to associate
the changes with any particular foods that she eats. Baby gets no supplements. Mother
stopped dairy 2 months ago hoping it would help the late night crying.Any thoughts on what
smelly stools indicate?
Thanks!
Bracha Haskel, LLLL, Childbirth educator
