The Doctors at the hospital where I work prescribe Maxalon (Metoclopramide) tds for 5 days  to help increase low breast milk supply (in conjunction with other methods instigated by the midwives and lactation consultants such as increasing frequency of feeds, expressing pc, ensuring baby is well attached and positioned at the breast, and ensuring baby suckles actively at the breast).  I have in the past had the understanding that it was better to slow wean Maxalon (over about a week) as it may otherwise cause a rebound reduction in supply when suddenly stopped.  Has anyone any information on this or know of any references regarding this matter.
