Hi all.
Got a question from a mom today. Baby boy is 3 months, born at 29 weeks (2.2
lbs), now at 8 pounds. Mom expressed breastmilk for one month, and lost her
supply. Since this point the baby has been on several formulas. All the
cow's milk ABMs caused problems--excessive spitting up, especially. Doctor
recommended soy formula, and the problems are really no better. Mom is
concerned about soy and wants to try something else. Is the hypoallergenic
ABM N****igen soy based? What are the options in this case? Mom states that
putting baby to breast is extremely painful (I suggested relactation already).
I know this isn't a breastfeeding question but any knowledge in
this--uncharted, for me--field (formula questions) would be appreciated. Post
privately if this query runs too far afield of lactnet milieu.
