My youngest had eczema as a baby, and it turned out to be caused not by
anything in my diet (he was, of course, exclusively breastfed) but by
sensitivity to detergent and to certain fabrics. He had to have his clothes
washed only in Ivory Snow (or a similar laundry soap) and he could only wear
cotton. Synthetic fabrics caused an immediate reaction. I have always used
cloth diapers, so don't know if disposables would cause it, but I suspect
they would.
It's interesting, but when I told my mother about this she reminded me that
I had also experienced eczema as a child when I wore certain fabrics - I
still remember an acrylic sweater that drove me crazy!
It may not be food at all...
