Just have to tell all of you, I Am Famous...well, at least locally anyways!
Our local news station came to our WIC babyshower today and recorded a
segment for thier health beat......they did a FANTASTIC job portraying our
WIC program and how breastfeeding is the BEST!  They had a pregnant mom
talk, showed all of us peer counselors, and even focused in on me while I
was talking about the pumps we give, and answering questions...Our
lactation consultant got to speak and we are all so happy to see this
portrayed well!  About two weeks ago they did a report on the study that we
have going on here locally at The Center For Pediatric Research.  Dr. E.
Stephen Buescher is doing a study on the anti-inflammatory effects of
breastmilk.  I dontate to this study.  Anyways, they did a story on it, and
followed up today with our group and how we are helping mom's to
breastfeed.  One of the last questions that the head anchor woman asked her
at the end of the segment was, "so, when do they recommed to wean the baby?"
The woman who did our report, was so good, she said, "you know, that
question came up today, and that is a personal choice, but that the longer
you breastfeed, the better it is!"  I am so happy with them!!  They did
such a great job!  I am going to be sure to let them know this!!
