Dear Victoria,
A good reference book for your client is; "The Breast Book" by Dr.Susan Love.
It is available in book stores. She is a surgeon whos speciality is breasts.
She has a chapter on incisions when a woman is lactating and she does not
recommend weaning to resolve the problem.  Your client's new doctor may want
to contact Dr.Love in California if he/she wants some clarification.
Good luck, the wound will definately leak milk a long time.
