I have a question about a 32 weeker who has been in NICU for only 2 1/2 weeks
and will probably be coming home before his 3 week birthday! I feel this is a
bit early! He isn't really nursing very well at all as he tires so quickly and
according to our LC he really won't be nursing vigorously for a couple of
weeks. He only takes about 5 sucks after he latches on and thats about all he
does, which at this gestational age is great, but to send him home at this
stage...How is this mom going to establish a nursing routine with him??? They
are feeding him every 4 hours now when mom isn't there..He gets supplemental
feeds after each attempt at nursing.. Im at a loss as to what to tell her and
how to be supportive once the baby is home. Also, her Mother will surely come
and she is NOT supportive of her attempts in any way!!!!!! ANY advice would be
appreciated!!!!! Please E Mail me privately!
Thanks!
OKOKOKOK I confess He is my Nephew!!! Im an AUNT!!!!!
