I think the group knows my opinion on this one-species specific milk is
best! I'm about half way through Kathy Dettwyler's book and found the
chapter that talked about species specific milk and how long mammals nursed
absolutely fascinating as did my zoologist husband, Carl.
Carl's comment on the big five-they wouldn't survive on the African
savannah without their mother's milk. "Those mammal babies would be
carrion in no time." An interesting analogy...
