dear all,

the Mother's Milk Bank here in Denver, Co., is in great need of breastmilk.
winter is a difficult time for donors, with colds, etc. anyone who is nursing
or has a supply of frozen breastmilk that is not over six months might be able
to help. there are various more specific qualifications, but most healthy
mother and baby dyads can donate. the milk bank routinely ships and receives
milk from out of town, and will cover the costs of such shipping.

they are not currently online (too busy dispensing milk and studying up for
their IBCLC exams, which all the milk bank mavens passed), so you may either
call them at 1-303-869-1888, or reply to me via PRIVATE email.

now i know that not all of you are lactating, although perhaps this is a good
challenge for dr. newman to try during the big blizzard, but many of you
routinely see a lot of mothers that might help. working mothers often make the
best donors because they are already pumping on a daily basis.

if you live near a milk bank already, see if they want it first.

thanks all, and there is also a newsletter for medical professionals that you
can sign up for if you want to read REALLY inspiring stories of how miraculous
this fluid can be.
