Ann, I don't blame you for feeling really rotten about that. You have just
witnessed a woman losing an incredibly important part of her life, a bf
relationship. I would recommend that the woman get another doctor for a
second opinion, or a third, if necessary, I would plop down all my books on
her lap stating that there is NO reason to wean for an abscess, and that she
could start breastfeeding any time, and/or pumping (gently) to increase the
supply. AT THE VERY LEAST ( and I am shouting here) she could bf on the
other side.
She might also wish to consult for some legal advice.
