Hello everyone,
I have been reading the thread with getting the baby to open their
mouth with interest. I read awhile ago (sorry, I can't remember where, but
it was pre-lactnet) that if you press on both of the babies palms with your
thumbs that the baby will open their mouths. I was able to try this in
several cases, and had good results, however, I would not say that these
babies had particularly tightly clenched jaws. If this works consistently,
it could be a good approach, unfortunately it truely took two people with
me standing behind the mother holding the babies hands. But since this may
be a transitory problem, it could be a accomplished for a few feedings with
a partner's help. Has anyone else tried this?? I would be interested in
other examples of the effectiveness of this idea!!
