Breastmilk for stuffy noses works well, but I also use it, (and a
kindly RN at the hospital recommended it when my first baby was born
in 1985) for conjunctivitis.
Now, my 7 year old had conjunctivitis the other week, so I gently
nudged the doctor along this path "Oh, if only I was still
breastfeeding I could fix it with some breastmilk!" ... as she
prescribed some eye drops. She didn't even look surprised. "Yes, it's
handy for lots of things like that", she said. "Stuffy noses, yucky
eyes..." now I was surprised, but I was good, and treated it as though
every doctor should know that, but I left with a smile on my face.
I wonder if she has heard about cabbage leaves reducing swelling.....
