Katherine,
Since you will no doubt have to go anyway, perhaps you could show this MD
some researched papers she might like to check out:
Colley, J. and Corkhill,R., Influence of passive smoking and parental phelgm
on pneumonia and bronchitis in early childhood. LANCET 1974;2;1031

Lawrence, R. Breastfeeding: a Guide for the Medical Profession, ( gettem with
a colleague's educated view!) 4th ed. St Louis, Mosby, 1994. pp.518-19,760-61

Steldinger, R. and Luck, W. Half lives of nicotine in milk of smoking mothers:
implications for nursing. J Perinatal Med 1988; 16:261-62 (This sounds like a
good one because it acknowledges the MDs honest concerns about smoking but
then continues on to discuss how nursing can work.)

Good luck! Judy LeVan Fram, Brooklyn, NY
