I had been reading about hydrogel and wondered if it was about the same as
Jelonet. When my oven exploded a couple of weeks ago, it left me with
second degree burns on my left hand. My neighbor had jelonet and put that
on it before taking me to the ER. There the doctor (they called in a
plastic surgeon) used Jelonet and antibiotics (Foracyn in Spanish) and
wrapped it. When the dressings were removed 4 days later, I was amazed at
the healing. Although I had some minor blistering still and had to rewrap
some fingers and a thumb, the healing was incredible. Now at two weeks +
post burn, the skin has peeled off to reveal healthy skin below. In fact,
the arm and hand that were wrapped with the Jelonet healed much more
quickly than the first degree burns on my other arm which is just now
getting around to peeling.
Needless to say, I am sold on this stuff. I would be very interested to
see if anyone has used it in lactation management and if so, how.
