Hi All
Just wanted to share a case with you.  I actually posted this case a few weeks
ago.  THis baby was born end of Dec has never really latched.  We got some
action at the breast with a SNS the 2nd week but the latch was always loose.
Mom did not want to continue the system so opted to pump and use the H------n
feeder and suck training while every fdg try at the br.  Also tried a shield
recommended by the pedi NP but baby did not take to this at all. At times he
would cry and arch when mom tried brfdg.  So I told her about the rebirthing
bath and they have used this on different occations.  I have made a referral
to an oral/speech threapist who will see baby next week.
Yesterday mom called me to share that she took another bath and just when she
was going to get out he latched on and nursed for 25 min!  He hasn't done it
since and we joked about her having to excuss herself to go take a bath so he
would nurse.
I'll keep you posted.  Babies are amazing creatures!
