I LOVE your explaination of breastfeeding vs breast feeding or breast-feeding.
Most of us in the field of human lactation do use the spelling "breastfeeding"
because it is such an interrelationship between mom and baby.  I believe
dictionaries spell it with the hyphen which is why writers, not in the
lactation field, use that spelling. BUT, with enough time and persistence, I
believe the spelling will change to one complete word.
