The Netherlands has very high breastcancer rates. About as high as in
US. I've read several times about this (in newspapers, magazines). From
what I read it is not very common, but it is an option that is given to
women who are from families with very high rates of breastcancer.

But nobody mentions the risk the daughters of these women have, being
deprived of human milk, and thus having higher change of having
breastcancer. (If I remember correctly, the ref for this can be found on
Jon Ahrenden's page). IMO these risk should be taken into account too,
when making the decision.
