It should have been pretty well established, by now, that it is okay for mom to take a fleets enema, even listing the ingredients. I want to add my $.02, remembered from having to do a whole bunch of experiments and calculations regarding fleets, in chemistry, 20 years ago. The reason fleets is okay for breastfeeding moms is that the the product doesn't get into mom's blood stream. It is not like ingesting something enterically to alter the body's function, but is a very local action. My memory is that the action of fleets is to create a difference in salinities between the bowel and the rest of the body, drawing fluid from the body into the bowel to balance the difference, causing excretion due to the increased fluid volume now in the bowel.

If my memory is incorrect, I am sure many of you will set me straight, and correction will be welcomed.
