Latanoprost is a new prostaglandin used topically in the eye for reducing
introcular pressure in glaucoma patients.
Its effect is primarily local in the eye, plasma half-life is only 17
minutes. Although we have no data on its transfer into human milk, it
would be extremely unlikely.
One suggestion would be to wait for about one hour following treatment
before breastfeeding... this would dramatically reduce any risk of
transferral of this drug to milk (remember the 5 half-life rule).
