I got a call from a mom with a baby with multiple birth problems. I've been
searching the archives and have been successful so far in finding answers,
however, one eludes me.
This mom needs to get more calories into her baby (6 months, has spina bifida,
high palate, is on long term antibiotic therapy, has been in the hospital for
severe diarrhea and dehydration due to flu). Anyway......mom has a store of
frozen breastmilk, but she thinks the containers she froze it in were not air
tight and she's afraid of freezer burn.
What she wants to know is, will freezer burn affect the milk's nutrients, etc?
We've figured it will affect the taste, so getting it into the baby may be a
moot point if the taste is bad.
Thanks in advance.
