The flying and feeding discussion reminds me of two "makes my heart sing"
experiences I had with each of my daughters.
Returning from Chicago on one of those "fly to somewhere and somewhere and
somewhere for less" deals...got on plane w/ 16 mo Phoebe and get an
incredibly dour look from the guy on the aisle. Toddler is fussy, latches
on, falls asleep, latches on, falls asleep, etc.
End of flight, guy looks at me and says, "I had to sit next to a screaming
bratty toddler from LA to ORD. When you got on I cursed my luck. What a
great kid you have." I really don't think he knew how I kept her so quiet
-- a great way to get ready for:
Quick flight, Buffalo NY to Hartford. Fussy, miserable 15 mo
Blythe will not be quiet. "I'll just nurse her on the plane...I requested
a front-row seat."
Walk on plane, sit in seat and realize I am FACING (yes shout) 175
businessmen. "Oh well...." No one even blinked an eye, and she slept the
entire flight after latch-on!
The memories, the memories. --Dawn K Green Mtn Mama who would
like to kiss Polly Perez for her wonderful labor support & Mom/Baby
presentation here in Brattleboro Wed. night ("if you can't lactate you
can't have the baby the first two hours--and how many nursery nurses will
feed your baby at their breast? and do you want them to?)
